How Do Free Estimates Work For Roofing?
Depending on the size of your roof, it can take up to 2 hours to give a proper estimate. That being said most take about 1 hour and can be done on the spot. The estimators at Roof Troop are usually booked out a week in advance for providing new estimates.
Can You Guys Start On My Roof Today?
Depending on how soon the roof needs to be repaired or replaced it can be anywhere from the next day to the next couple weeks. It all depends on the severity of the situation. For example, a roof with a hole in it is something that needs to be taken care of right away…whereas a roof replacement on a house that’s being sold can wait a week or 2.
How Long Will It Take To Get A New Roof?
When done properly and all factors and complexity are taken into consideration a roof can be installed in 1-3 days. For larger homes or commercial buildings, a new roof can take up to one week.
Do You Have Your Own Crews Or Subcontract It Out?
Yes! We have hand picked the best crew members with the highest certification scores. Many of our crew members have been with us for years because of how well they do. Roof troop always has a long list of roofing job inquiries, and we are always very selective. Will Your Crews Need To Use My Bathroom?
No! We are one of the few roofing companies in Colorado Springs who have portable bathroom trailers sent out with each job. No need to worry about people coming in and out of your home throughout the day!
What If My Home Currently Has A Leak?
If your home has a leak call us right away! We always have blocks out in our schedule for the emergencies we know will happen. However, depending on the weather and the severity of the issue, our repair team might implement a short-term fix until more time comes around for a replacement crew to get in there and fix it proper.
What About Gutters & Skylights?
It is our company belief that if you are having a roof replaced, it is best to have the skylights and gutters replaced as well. From our experience, customers who wait on having those replacements done initially wind up calling us the next season to have that work completed as well.
How Do I Know If My Roof Needs To Be Replaced?
If you roof is leaking in multiple areas…that is the first sign. Also if you were to walk around your home and you find shingles on the ground…or shingles that curled and raised on the roof, this would be a good sign of needing replacement. When shingles are missing or they are curled, this means that the roof itself is becoming brittle…and a brittle roof is a time bomb of sorts. It’s best to get that replaced right away!
Can A Handyman Repair A Roof?
A handyman can repair a roof…but we don’t recommend it because it is never a specialty. We recommend hiring a locally licensed professional who has crew members that lead the industry in knowledge and effort. Our crew members work year-round and have come across just about every roofing situation out there. In addition, each of our crews have a leader who makes sure all the work is being done properly and up to code!
Is A Metal Roof Better Than Shingles?
In our opinion metal roofs are better than shingles if longevity and durability are your wants in a roof. A metal roof that is properly maintained can last anywhere from 30 to 70 years! Metal roofs are also stronger against high winds and harsh impacts. Further, metal roofs actually help keep your cooling costs lower by 10 – 20%. Finally, if you want to do your part in saving the environment…then a metal roof is a great option as well! All metal roofs are 100% recyclable.
Is Power Washing A Roof Bad?
We do not recommend power washing a roof as it could do more harm than good in the end. No matter what roofing material you go with…none of them are made to withstand such high levels of water pressure. In fact, studies have shown that by power washing a roof, especially a composite roof, the degradation of materials increases. Lastly, as you move the washer side to side and up and down…you can actually lift the shingles and cause a leak. That’s not fun! Roof Troop never recommends power washing a roof under any condition.

Roof cleaning in Colorado Springs varies. Some homes are bigger than others and require more work and materials. Roof Troop offers cleaning packages that are yearly or even bi yearly so that your roof will stay healthy all the time!
